Visit Notes

Sunday, 5th January 2003

I first saw a picture of this little wedge tomb some 2 years ago and it was very overgrown. Now though it is very much in the open and easy to see. It is a small tomb, or the remains are fairly small, but that should not put you off coming to see this one. Some double walling is evident, and the large remaining capstone is nearly 1.7m square.

Sitting in the opening on the east side is a stone with a shallow, but definite bullaun cup in it.

My advice here is to visit in the afternoon if posible as a high row of poplar tress next to the tomb cast a permanent morning shadow upon it.
