This is a fairly good example of a court tomb, but the court has been broken up quite a bit. The huge gallery is divided by single jambs towards the front and by a great big sill stone at the rear. This latter division forms a completely separate chamber, as can be seen at Ballyedmonduff (County Dublin). To the rear of this chamber are a few other stones which a sign at the gate says once formed a full circular court - an unusual feature. Another oddity here is the entrance into the gallery this is split by two stones, which reminds me of wedge tombs such as Cashelbane Cairn (County Tyrone) and many other northern wedge tombs.
One of the stones flanking the entrance has a hole through it, as does one of the stones forming the walls.
The fields around this tomb are scattered with many odd stone arrangements .. a curious area indeed.
