Visit Notes

Sunday, 13th October 2002

The current remains (just a few walls and a partial tower) date from the 1100s, but the site is said to date back to 460 when none other than St. Patrick himself visited here. I visited here because I looked at my map and saw a green circle penned around the site with the letters 'EX' next to it - indicating 'Exhibitionist'.

This is the main point of interest here - the 'Sheela-na-Gig' that is located on the inside wall about 10 feet up. It is extremely worn and the features are not really very clear.
