The south wall of the church is just 2m high and lying on one section of it is an ogham stone. Next to this is a door capital and, on the opposite side, a relief stone carving showing the crucifixion, Mary and an angel.

The Ogham is very difficult to read and says BRRUANANN. This shows one feature common to several ogham stones, namely letter doubling. It has been speculated that this occurs because ogham carvers were paid by the letter and that the customers could rarely read ogham themselves.
