As I drove towards this I realised that I'd taken the wrong turn and so had to drive an extra 3km around the site. This was no bad thing as I could see how well place it is because I could see the tower, which is situated on a little knoll, at all times.
There are just four very nicely constructed floors remaining now. The door has a rounded top and the windows on the south side are pointed at the top in stark contrast to the northern windows which are simply square.
A the base of the tower is one almighty grave slab with a cross and 'celtic' patterned border.
I sat in front of the tower and watched swallows dart in and out of the doorway for ten minutes. I am always amazed at the speed with which they shoot around. They must have great brakes.

Despite having been here previously I thought it would be a nice spot to stop off and have a cup of coffee before heading home proper.
It was dusk as I sat here and the huge orange lamps situated at the bottom of the tower were lighting it up most splendidly. I'm not sure about wasting electricity on lighting up a remote monument like this, but it did look nice.
