Whilst on the way to this I was warned that we were heading for an ugly portal tomb. It would seem that the tomb itself has heard this oppinion and has taken to hiding beneath the hedgerow and ivy. All we could see was a tiny section at the base of the large, narrow capstone.
A quick scramble trough the field behind it bore no fruit either as there is a very large concrete water tank built right next to it, blocking all access.
From the road side of the tomb you can just make out the low entrance to the chamber, visible below the strangly recessed bottom edge of the capstone. The portal stones are very short, not even coming above waist height, but the colossal depth of the capstone makes the top of the monument around 4m tall.
I would love to see this one exposed so that I can see just how ugly it is and to see the exact shape of its intriguing capstone.
