Visit Notes

Now moved inside the church building are these two ogham stones. One of them has been erected in a niche in the wall to offer protection to it. This one is a very nice, square sectioned stone about 1.2m high with ogham script on all four edges.

The other one lies on the floor looking rather lost and abandoned. This is of extremely phallic shape - I hope that this is not the reason why this one has not been put on display properly. The ogham on this is very hard to see.

Miscellanea

On my visit to Ardmore on Sunday 4th February, 2007 the church was locked and I could not get in to see the ogham stones again. I do not know if it is possible to get the key from anywhere locally.
