Only the gods could have erected this!!! When I first saw this from the road I thought that it looked rather nice - when I got close I began to realise just how nice it is.
This four stone row is one of the most impressive things I have ever seen. It is arranged east to west across a ridge and dominates the surrounding area.
The tallest stone is a whopping 3.4m tall and 1.5m wide! The smallest would look good as the biggest stone in any other alignment, standing at over 1.8m tall. The whole row is over 10m long.
This really is a thing of beauty.

I have wanted to return here ever since I left here 3 years ago on my first visit. These were my first really big stones and they left on hell of an impression on me. Approaching from the north and seeing them against the skyline is simply amazing. Walking across the field towards them and seeing them get bigger and bigger is equally so.
As we arrived this time two couples were just leaving the field. This was a local farmer and his wife showing some Canadian guest the stones. The farmer told a lovely tale of hi childhood. He always used to ask about the stones as he walked past and his dad would tell him that his grandma carried them there from Kerry on her back. His smile as he recalled this was quite special.
This tale made me wonder if this was really a very old folk-memory of older tales. Many stones are said to have been carried by giants or by hags and Kerry was the home of Calliagh, the Hag. Did these stones come from Kerry. Were they used for Hag worship? We’ll never know, but it’s fun to ponder.
