Visit Notes

Sunday, 9th June 2002

Nearly all big stones needs some space around them to allow the visitor a chance to stand back and fully appreciate its presence in the landscape - this is true of smaller stones too but, I find, to a lesser extent. Like so many stones these days some idiot has allowed another idiot to build a dwelling within 10m of this stone, the garden of which is just 5m from it.

Around the base of the stone someone has liberally sprinkled weed killer and recently lit a small fire.

The stone is a little over 2m tall and 1.3m wide, with a depth of 50cm or so and looks to be a shale or mud rock slab. A lovely stone ruined by a lack of respect.
