Visit Notes

Monday, 3rd June 2002

This standing stone occupies a commanding position in a scene of rolling fields. Its diminutive height and awkward does not make it too appealing upon approach, when you see its south face all this changes.

Near the top are three concentric circles about 12cm in diameter, a few wavy lines with straight lines emanating downwards from them and some shallow cup marks.

It's hard to tell but the lower half may well have contained some of the pattern too. The lines all over are quite weathered and mid morning would offer best light conditions (I think).
