I would not have known of these cairns had it not been for C. Corlett's book on Rathdown. They are situated on the north shoulder of The Great Sugar Loaf mountain and give superb views over the north Wicklow Mountains and north towards Howth and Lambay.
To the south the possible Mother Mountain (The Great Sugar Loaf) towers up in a most impressive manner. A beautiful spot to sit and watch the world from.
There are two cairns here; one is very small and does not seem to be a burial cairn but the other is certainly large enough to have been. The top of the larger one is concave as if it has been robbed out from the top, perhaps by people searching for whatever may have been buried beneath it.
From Enniskerry take the R760 south and then the R755 south. After about 2km turn left and pass to the south of the Great Sugar Loaf Mountain. After about 700m you will see a car park on the left. Park here and follow the path up and over the west shoulder of the mountain. Keep walking past the peak and you will see the cairns beyond.
