Visit Notes

Sunday, 12th May 2002

I've been trying to get to this stone for ages but the big gates across the track have always deterred me .... until now.

This large (2m tall) stone is very impressive indeed. It is 1.1m wide and deep, making a very large piece of stone! On the south face there are five shallow cup marks about one third of the way up.

Directions

Take the N81 south from Dublin. Shortly after the junction with the N82 you will pass a hospital entrance. Take the next left just around the bend. Follow the road around to the right until you reach a large red gate on your right hand side. Park here and scramble over the wall and walk up the track. You will see a barn on the right. Walk past this and through the next gate. The stone is then 40m to your left.
