This stone is very distinctive due to both its size and shape. It stands some 3m tall and is around 1.5m in diameter, making it quite a giant.
The most interesting thing is the 'shoulder' that is about 30cm deep and starts approximately half way up its height.
The OS map actually marks in a little further into the field than where it actually stands but I am not sure if it's been moved or the OS ref recorded for it is wrong.
A beautiful stone that seems to fight off the ugliness of the fence behind it quite successfully.

From Rathfriland head briefly west along the B3, but at the sharp right bend carry straight on. At the next junction go left and after about 1km keep peering through the hedge to the left and you will see the stone. Access to the field is about 100m before the stone.
