Situated to the rear of the church (marked as a well) this round, flat topped mound is a curiosity. There are no ditch or defenses around it and it seems too small to be a homestead, but perhaps I'm judging by today's standards.

From Mountrath head east along the N7 for about 3.2km. Look out for a layby on the right in front of a church. Walk through to the rear of the churchyard where you will see the rath behind.
