This stone is visible from the stone circle at Ballinvalley (County Meath) in the field to the southwest. It is one of several standing stones scattered about the plain to the north of the Loughcrew hills.
It stands about 1.6m tall next to a small rock outcrop. About 50m south of the stone there is a flat rock that looks as if it has some interesting shadows on its top surtface.
I didn't actually go into the field and get right upto the stone, because the field in which it stands belongs to a different farmer than the field with the stone circle, and settled for looking at it over the fence from a distance of about 60m or so.
