Visit Notes

Sunday, 27th January 2002

The locals obviously like this feature and have constructed a lovely public park around it. There is nothing special about the mote itself which reaches a height of possibly 5m and is maybe 25m in diameter.

Head north from Ardee on the N2 and then take the R171 north. When you reach Tallanstown instead of following the R171 to the right continue north and the motte is about 100m around the corner by the roadside.
