The farmer didn't seem too keen to let me down to this amazing site at first, saying that it was overgrown. After I asked to see it anyway he gave me directions - I knew there was still stuff to see here, because Ken Williams had visited it not too long ago.
The motifs occur on nearly every face of this large 10m x 2m outcrop. The main attraction is a remarkable rosette motif - a cup and ring desing with a ring of smaller cup and rings around it - that occupies a groundlevel spot on the east side of teh outcrop. Like nearly all the carvings this is very worn and quite difficult to make out until a little side flash is applied. Alongside the rosette there is a spiral with an curious tail coming off it.
Above the rosette there are many cup and ring designs on the upper surfaces of the outcrop. These are all very worn and difficult to see.
At the south end of the panel there is a wonderful cup and ring motif nestling against the fence. This is the clearest of the exposed designs and one has to wonder what lies beyond the fence under the grass. Near to this motif there is a large exposed area that is littered with clusters of very worn cup and ring designs.
This is an amazing piece of rock art that needs carefully maintaining and protecting. This should be a national monument.
