I called in at the farm, but there was no one in. You can see the stone from the road just outside the farmyard and the field looked empty, so I popped in to see the stone. It wasn't until later that the horse in the field made itself known to me.
The stone is a nice example. It stands nearly 2m tall and is around 1m wide at its base. It tapers to a point with a slightly rounded edge, giving the impression that it could be a portal stone from a long gone portal tomb, but the presence of other large standing stones around Knocklayd Mountain makes this an unnecessary leap of faith.
