This roadside bullaun is an odd and interesting one. The bullaun or basin is sub-rectangular (i.e. rectangular with rounded corners) and the boulder is very evenly shaped, so this could be a crude cross base. There is a modern inscription on the front face of the stone.

Of particular interest is a zig-zag line carved on the upper surface of the stone running away from the bullaun. I've never seen anything like it on a bullaun stone or cross base. Is it a bit of prehistoric rock art or is it contemporary with the more modern inscription? I believe it is probably modern and could be two Ms.
