This is a nice double bullaun stone that is hidden away in a little copse of deciduous trees a few metres above the Inchavore River that flows down into Lough Dan. It is on the opposite side of the valley to the cup marked stone also in Carrigeenshinnagh (County Wicklow).
The stone is earthfast and a little over 1.2m in length. The two basins are 35cm in diameter. Being under trees they don't have much chance of collecting a lot of water and were both full of leaf mould when I arrived. The covering of trees, even devoid of leaves at this time of year, makes this spot a pleasant place to be. Dotted around the stone there are many more boulders and lumps of rock, but none of them have any markings. I was expecting to find a second bullaun here, but it looks like this is a lone stone.
