This is a massive structure some 250m long and 20m wide, represented by two parallel banks that reach 4m in height in places.

Despite being called the Great Hall it is in doubt whether this is actually the Great Hall refered to in legend.

I think this is the first time that I have walked up the length of the cursus. I know that it aligns directly on the Mound Of The Hostages, but to reach the top and see it before you is great.

The GPS reading on the left was taken about halfway up. For those that wish to know the north end is at N 91977 60108 (5m) and the south (top) end is at N 91999 59908 (6m), making it almost exactly 200m long.

Follow the N3 from Dublin and turn left at the Village of Tara. Take the first right (past Rath Maeve) and the Hill Of Tara is 3 km on the left.
