Visit Notes

Sunday, 9th December 2007

I don't think I'd have found this stone if it wasn't for the fact that the farmer drove past as I was standing around scratching my head, because this stone is actually under some Leylandii and 20cm below the level of the road, so that only the bullaun shows.

The basin is about 30cm across and very neat. However, because the rest of the stone is completely buried I can't say how big it is.

Known locally for curing warts (as so many bullaun stones are) the stone still has a bit of local lore attached to it, which is always good to see.
