These curious fortifications lie on the downward north-west slope of the hill, hence the name. It is really quite difficult to pick out the details of what is what exactly and the gorse bushes hide the real detail from you.

Follow the N3 from Dublin and turn left at the Village of Tara. Take the first right (past Rath Maeve) and the Hill Of Tara is 3 km on the left.
