This huge, hollowed out mound is quite intriguing. The mound itself is definitely built up with small stones and is hollowed out in the center.
There is a platform like earthwork protruding to the west. A very peculiar site indeed.

To reach Newtown Hill the best plan is to park at Johnny Fox's pub in Glencullen and walk east towards Kiltiernan until you rach the new church. I crossed to the rear of the churchyard, scrambled over the wall and walked up the hill through the fields.
The surrounding undergrowth make this hard to spot, but as you walk up the hill it is distinguishable to your left as a bushy lump.
