Visit Notes

Sunday, 10th June 2007

Located on a south-facing plateau with extensive views to the south and west. To the north a high rocky peak rises to dominate the site.

This stone really does appear to be an 'oghamised' standing stone. The top has been damaged, but the inscriptions seem to finish before the broken edges. There are ogham characters on the two southern edges, but these are very worn in places. The remains of the stone are still tall - over 2m. From the thickness of its base it could easily have been over 3m tall originally.
