Locations don't get much more remote than this: high up on the western slopes of the Monavullagh Mountains on a small promontory. To reach the site involves a 1km walk, which is no hardship due to the opportunity to take in the breathtaking views (at least I assume it was the views that were taking my breath away.)
At first site this appears to be a stone pair, but closer inspection reveals a very small stone just 30cm high set in line with the two larger stones. These two stones are a little over 1.5m tall and stand about 1.5m apart. The small stone is 4m from the northeastern stone. The row is algned northeast-southwest. Like the nearby stone circle I discovered on the way up to this monument the location of this monument forces your views to the southwest and the Knockmealdown Mountains. What an amazing place.
