I wouldn't have stopped here normally, especially as it was getting late and I wanted get home, but the signpost attracted my attention. Like all the signposts on the Clewbay Archaeological Trail you are not told what you are going to see until you see it. There is an explanatory notice board at each site and this does tell you what the next and previous sites are on the trail, but the actually directional signposts just say 'Site 11 2.5 km >'
There is not a great deal to see here, but being so close to Croagh Patrick there is one heck of a view! The ringfort is in good condition. The 40m diameter central area is bounded by a 1m high bank, but this is nearly all hidden by enormous gorse bushes that grow around the rim of the bank and down its outer sides.
