The stump of the high cross at Old Kilcullen deserves a page of its own, so here it is.
I really like the style of the carvings on this one: they're quite naive. The south face is ornamental. The east face has the Twelve Apostles in three groups of four. The west face five panels that are hard to work out, but could be (from top to bottom) a) the bottom part of a crucifixion scene, b) man on horse blowing a trumpet, c) Samson, d) Flight into Egypt & e) five heads. The north face has David and the Lion at the bottom and what I think is the Sacrifcie of Isaac at the top.
It has been suggested that the top panel is, in fact, an "Episode showing Mac Tail, son of adze', founder of Kilcullen, with crosier, bell and book, smiting the enemy." (Richardson and Scarry - Irish High Crosses - 1990)
The presence of the Sacrifice of Isaac on so many crosses and this panel's similarity to them must point to it being that scene, in my opinion.
