Visit Notes

Tuesday, 18th December 2001

There is just a cross and church marked on the map here but there is so much more. Next to the cross are two bullauns (one holed right through) that sit quietly at its base.

There is also a beautiful cross slab fastened in a somewhat undignified manner to a block of concrete.

Down some steps is what appears to be a small standing stone but closer inspection shows that it marks a spring head. It has been worked on the rear to form a little canopy for the spring. Perhaps it was a much older stone.
