Set in an idyllic location this early Christian site really does offer a good place to 'get away from it all'.
The church has a nice east window with some shallow Romanesqe decoration. On the inside of the east wall a number of cross-slab fragments have been mounted. These show up very well if you are here around midday.
Between the church and the gate are the remains of several crosses, the main segment being the tapered shaft of the Great East Cross. To be honest none of the monuments in this part of the site are all that spectacular, but the little well down the track and the bullaun in the next field are quite lovely.
