On the way back to the car from Ballycook (County Carlow) we were pretty dejected, until I spied the bullaun we had failed to find there. It is in the hedge row 30m from the gate into the field!
It's a lovely looking stone; big and rounded, but fairly well buried. It must have been in its current location for a long time. The single 25cm diameter conical bullaun is still exposed and holds water. It is over 30cm deep.
