Visit Notes

Sunday, 26th October 2003

We were actually here looking for the bullaun stone at Ballycook (County Carlow). While we were walking around the outside of the enclosure here I saw a massive cylindrical stone with a hole in its upper surface with a huge slab next to it. So, in we went, fighting through head high nettles and low thorn trees - the sight is very neglected.

When we finally reached them these turned out to be a cross base and a 2m tall cross slab with a maltese cross on one side.
