Although this is a cross, it was almost certainly a much older holed-stone, i.e. a standing stone with a hole in it, that has been Christianised to the extreme and on more than one occasion.
The 1.5m tall stone stands just inside the graveyard entrance. Its slender shaft now has a rounded (posible worn cross-shaped) top. The hole is central to this and has the arms of a crude cross scatched, radiating from the hole, on both faces. On the east face has relatively modern inscription, while the scratched cross is clearest on the west face.
