What a beautifully unspoilt spot! This bullaun is located just inside an ancient churchyard, of which the church is now nothing more than a set of low walls, right on the border of Louth and Armagh. Three tall yew trees tower immediately over you and hills and mountains dominate the northern view, especially the double peaked, breast-like Croslieve Shean to the northwest. Slieve Gullion is visible to the immediate north if it's not covered in cloud!

The single bullaun is cut into the top of a large unfashioned boulder about 1m x 1.2m x 1m (H x W x D). It is a typically hemisperical bullaun 25cm in diameter. A very fine stone indeed. Although you can drive along the very narrow lane and park quite close I would suggest parking at the road and walking along the track. The scenery is one to be savoured and a 500m walk adds nothing to your day.

The churchyard is part of the Poet's Trail, a walking route. Apparently, the 18th Century poet Peader O Doirin is burried here.
